The Community Enrichment Program (CEP)
CEP is an online course providing enrichment students with an introduction to sustainability. Students will learn from national and local thought leaders contemplating sustainability at the global, national, and community levels. Many of the online lectures used in this course will be recordings of presentations delivered during the Critical Issues in Sustainability lecture series. Students of selected communities will have the opportunity to pilot the SCI Sustainable Communities Index, a participatory research tool being developed to help community residents evaluate and improve the sustainability performance of their own towns and cities.
The course can be completed entirely online without ever commuting to campus, but for those seeking greater in-person interaction, SCI will support community-based student meet-ups and host occasional events on campus.
Students earn 3.6 RIC CEUs and the grading pattern is Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory.
