About Us
The mission of the Sustainable Communities Initiative is to catalyze positive social, environmental, and economic change by further engaging community residents in enrichment learning, participatory research, and informed community activism.
Through SCI, the RIC community and members of the public are being invited to develop a greater understanding of sustainability challenges, reflect with one another on these issues, and embark on collective sustainability actions.
Programming will include public lectures, innovative enrichment courses, the development and implementation of a participatory research tool, and support of volunteer sustainability groups in Rhode Island towns and cities.
